Over the Edge
It's an extremely short platformer (didn't have time to make as many levels as I wanted to unfortunately) made for GMTK 2025 where you can position yourself and loop across the screen to get around.
Controls:
WASD/arrow keys for movement
E - locks camera and enables screenwrap
Q - unlocks camera and disables screenwrap
Space - use to enter portals and go to next level
I hope you enjoy!

So uh firstly the instructions ingame is weird since the first area has nothing, 2nd area has movement control and door control.(Incase you are wondering, no I did not get stuck, before this I played Shroom Collector and figured the controls were similar here.)
Secondly, I don't know if it's intended but the boxes can be pushed very far but shortly when jumped on.
Thirdly, and this is important, the invisible doors can be interacted without the box on the button.
Fourthly, I don't know if it's intended but is the box loop area supposed to have the next door lead back to the first loop area?
When I played I was first confused when I clicked space after I got the box(from the box loop area) stuck on a wall due to how far it was pushed, I had clicked space near the invisible door and found myself playing the first loop area, I thought it was intended, then I realize that going through the first door from the box loop area leads me to the box push area, and that was confusing.
Then I finally got the box on the button platform, by jumping on it a few times to not go straight to the left wall, door revealed, and it sent me back to the first loop area.
So was there supposed to be a different area, an ending, or was that intended for some loop thing?(This is mostly because the box loop area seemed like a tutorial like the other areas.)
And finally, is it intended for there to be no sound or music?
Edit: Forgot that door entering was in the same area as movement control, whoops.
Yeah, I messed up the mapping with the levels, so the starting levels are in the wrong order hence, the awkward in-game instructions and I do remember one of the areas accidentally leading back to a previous level. However, due to the little content in the game since this was made for GMTK 2025, the final level was meant to loop back to the first level (and unintentionally worked with the theme of the jam: Loop). But yes, my mistake with the mapping probably made it very confusing to play through and I could have made it clearer which level was the final level.
The boxes were not meant to be move very little when jumped on, my physics with the boxes were very scuffed so that is something I will keep in mind when I make boxes for any new projects.
Thank you for mentioning that the invisible doors could be interacted with, it seems I did not turn off their colliders at the beginning of the level if they started off hidden so that was a complete oversight of mine.
And yes, there is supposed to be no music or sound, I ended up not having time near the end of the game jam to add sound or music, nor have I worked much with making my own music yet. Maybe in future projects I will implement sound or music, but I don't believe I will for a while on solo projects.
Thank you for the detailed feedback! If you have any suggestions for the game, I would appreciate those too. I don't intend on working on this specific project for a while because I've been busy, but I did enjoy the concept I created for this one, so I have thought about making a new project using this concept (no guarantees, just an idea I've had).
Love the concept! The confusion-to-AHA moment when i pressed E and jumped for the first time was fantastic!
U could really turn this into a cool puzzle platformer type game by fleshing it out
Thank you for the kind words! I don't know when I'll have the time to work on a new project using this concept, but I really liked the concept too!
maybe mention you need to press space to enter the door, was stuck for a solid 2 minutes xd
Ah, I can’t believe I forgot to put that on the first level and description. Thank you so much for pointing that out!
